We love the idea of a fairer world in the fashion industry and because of that we loved being a small part in Fashion Revolution week a few weeks ago. We want to stand with others in the industry that also want to see change, so that everyone is getting a fair deal for the work they are doing. We know that there are still things we need to do as a clothing company to ensure every stage of our production is fair but we are committed to making those changes.
This past we were so excited that we were able to find our first Fair Trade material supplier right here in Cebu, Philippines through a contact we made during Fashion Revolution week. The supplier works with indigenous communities here in the Philippines that weave cotton material. They pay a fair price for the material which enables the community to earn a good living, and also enables them to train the younger generation to carry on the skill for future generations to come.
We are excited to explore working with this company and community further to start producing a Fair Trade range of clothing in the future, so that you know that when you buy from us you helping to support communities here in the Philippines and other nations as we start to source other fair trade material.
We want to see the fashion industry changed for the better as the workers in the industry start to get paid a fair wage for the work they are producing to make our clothes.
